Voguing, which imitates the poses of models in the American fashion magazine Vogue, is much more than a dance: it is a way for LGBTQI+ communities to resist exclusion. Created in the 1970s in New York by the African and Latin American gay and trans community, this culture has made its appearance in Réunion, an island where issues of homosexuality and gender are still taboo in most families. The pioneer of this movement, Luna Ninja, also known as Johan Piémont, 25, is "she" on stage and "he" in real life. Luna brought this breath of freedom to the island after discovering the scene in Paris, alongside the legendary Lasseindra and the House of Ninja.
